Our Mission and History
Central West Women’s Health Centre was established on 29 October 1986 with a mission to provide a unique, holistic women-centred preventative and treatment approach to health and well-being. We empower women and children of all ages, cultures, sexual orientation, and gender identity to make informed choices throughout their lives. Our services are supported by funding from Western NSW Local Health District, NSW Department of Communities and Justice, and generous donations from the community.
Courses and Workshops
Yoga
Every Monday within the school term, join us for Yoga with our instructor Summer. This class is FREE. To register, please contact the Centre.
Introduction to Mindfulness
If you are new to mindfulness and are eager to learn the skills to being in the present moment, this course is for you. Completing this 3-week course allows you to join the mindfulness catch-up group. Next dates: Thursday, 28 November at 10am – 12pm. Please contact the Centre to register.
Wellness Garden Group
Our Wellness Gardening Group is a great opportunity to learn new gardening skills, freshen up from an old hobby, or just give you the chance to socialise amongst this amazing group! This group runs in 6-week stints and take a break in-between. Group is also quick to fill spots, please contact the Centre to enquire.
Our Services
Generalist Counselling
We offer a range of generalist counselling services on a range of issues including sexual assault, adult survivors of childhood abuse/sexual assault, depression, anxiety, grief & loss, self-esteem, identity, isolation and reproductive health.
Child, Adolescent Trauma Service
We provide assistance to children and adolescents (under 18 years of age) living in the Bathurst local government area who have been affected by abuse, including physical, emotional, mental, sexual abuse, and domestic and family violence.
Women's Health Nurse
Our Women’s Health Nurse is currently visiting the Centre once a month, falling on a Thursday. Please contact the Centre to find out the upcoming date.
