Courses and Workshops

We provide health education sessions and groups covering a wide range of women’s health issues, aimed at promoting good health and well-being among women of all ages.

Join one of our groups or sessions:

  • Yoga – Every Monday within the school term, join us for Yoga with our instructor Summer. This class is FREE. To register, please contact the Centre. 
  • Mindfulness Catch Up Group Fortnightly, Tuesday 11am. Our mindfulness catch-up group is an opportunity for those who have completed the three week course to keep connected and to practice mindfulness regularly.
  • Introduction to Mindfulness: If you are new to mindfulness and are eager to learn the skills to being in the present moment, this course is for you. Completing this 3-week course allows you to join the mindfulness catch-up group. The next course: August 15th, 22nd, and 29th, 10am to 12pm. Please contact the Centre to register.
  • Mothers & Daughters – Puberty MattersOnce a school term (Please see social media or call the centre for the upcoming date) . This two week group allows mothers/carers and their daughters to learn together. It will help them to understand and deal with the changes that take place during puberty and adolescence. Contact the Centre to register or to find out the upcoming dates. NEXT UPCOMING DATES: November 7th & 14th 2024 5:30pm – 7:30pm. 
  • The “M” Word – Menopause and Perimenopause information sessions are held bi-annually. Please contact the Centre to find out upcoming dates. NEXT UPCOMING DATES: Septmeber 5th 2024, 6:00 – 7:30pm.
  • Women’s Walking Group– Monday mornings, 9:30pm (9:00am during daylight savings) near the Steam Engine at Macquarie Park (except public holidays). Make new friends and stay active with our weekly walking group. Details can be found here. 
  • Together in Grief – A 6-week workshop aimed at young people who have lost a loved one. Guided by researched based methods from Centre Counsellors to assist young people in their grieving journey. NEXT DATES: TBA
  • Beyond the Plate – A 4-week workshop for girls between 13-15 years old about body image issues and disordered eating habits. NEXT DATES: Aug 27th, Sep 3rd, 10th, 17th, 4pm-5:30pm. Please contact the Centre to register.
  • Youth Mindfulness – If you have a young person between 12 and 14, Youth Mindfulness is a FREE mindfulness program involving active mindfulness activities such as thoughtful craft, working in nature, sensory play, mindfulness through Virtual Reality (RV Goggles), etc. This is a safe space to let your young people be present in the moment, providing benefits like decreasing stress, improved concentration, etc. Next dates: July 10th and 17th 2024. To register, please contact the Centre.
